The STAR Award:
Each year, the faculty of the Leon High School Choral Department selects the recipient of the Dale Pullen Memorial “Star” Award. The “Star” Award is presented to the senior choral student who shares Dale’s passion for music, has been judged an outstanding talent and has demonstrated a willingness to serve others. This award has been as much as $2000 in years past.
Pullen Award:
This award has the same criteria as the STAR award. This award has been as much as $500 PER recipient in years past.
Kickliter Award:
This award is in honor of Ray Kickliter, Leon Choral director from 1967-1988. It is awarded to an individual who will pursue a music degree in college. This award is $500-$750.
Arthur Award:
This award is in honor of Judy Arthur, Leon Choral director from 1979 to 2016. It is awarded to an individual who will pursue education (any type!) as a major. The award is $300-$500.
Chapman Achievement Award:
This award is in honor of Harold Chapman, Leon Choral director from the 1940’s to 1960’s. It is awarded to individuals who have shown marked dedication to the Leon Choral Department. The award is $100-$200.
