The Leon High School Percussion Ensemble consists of students with previous band experience in middle school or high school whose primary instrument is percussion. Students are focused on enhancing percussion skills and cultivating musical growth. Members of the Percussion Ensemble also participate in Marching Band, as well as Concert or Symphonic Band.

 The Leon High School concert band is for students who are new to band or have previous band experience in middle school or high school and wish to enhance their ensemble music skills.  All Concert Band members also participate in Marching Band and attend after-school rehearsals and periodic public performances.

The Leon High School Jazz Ensemble consists of students with jazz experience (or who want to gain experience).  Instruction focuses on students becoming conversant with basic chord progressions and the scale/chord relationship, strengthening aural skills, and learning to improvise and compose melodies over progressions as they rehearse, perform, and study high-quality jazz ensemble literature. Musicians study jazz history and become familiar with the cultural context of various compositions and artists. Members of the Jazz Ensemble must also be a member of another Leon High School band.
